What time of year do the tours take place? What is your schedule?

The tour season is from early May through early November. We average about 4-5 nights a week for May, June and September, and 5-6 nights a week during July, August and October. Tours almost always take place on weekend nights. We cannot publish a schedule for the entire season because we are a small company with one guide, (Jim), and because we never know what the weather will be! So just call or email us for the current schedule.

Where does the tour meet?

The tour begins in the Boston Common, in front of the city’s Visitor Information building, located at 148 Tremont Street. This building is on the Tremont Street side of the park, directly across Tremont St. from McDonalds. Also across the street is Boston Sound and West St. off of Tremont.

How long does the tour last and where does it end?

Tours last about 90 minutes, slightly longer if it is a large group. The distance is approximately one and one quarter miles. We move at a leisurely pace and we are able to sit down at a few spots. The tour ends at the Central Burying Ground, on the Boylston St. side of Boston Common.

Is the tour wheelchair/stroller accessible?

There is one set of stairs on the tour. We will be happy to reroute, but we would appreciate advance notice.

Will we see a ghost?

As Jim always says, “If I could conjure spirits whenever I want to, I’d be on Oprah!” Seriously, people taking the tour have occasionally felt strange sensations, and many have taken photographs which show blue orbs of light or shadows. Employees & guests at 3 of our locations have seen ghosts.

Is the tour fun/good?

People really ask this question! What do you expect us to say, but here are a few quotes from email/letters

"Hi Jim, I’ve heard from almost everyone today and they all had a great time! It was a huge success-we had so much fun"

- Linda Lorusso, Kaplan Corp

"Just wanted to thank you for the great tour on Saturday night. While I have visited Boston’s historical sites many times while at BU, you opened my eyes to a whole new array of facts that added greatly to my impressions and memories of the city."

- Jason Massman
